Abstract
Dit onderzoek analyseert in hoeverre Nederlandstalige boeken voor kinderen van drie tot negen jaar, gelet op woordgebruik en vormgeving, geschikt zijn voor bibliotherapeutisch gebruik en welke bibliotherapeutische technieken hierbij passend zijn. Om antwoord te geven op de hoofdvraag heeft er een kwalitatieve inhoudsanalyse plaatsgevonden van tien kinderboeken en twee expertsinterviews. De resultaten laten zien dat de boeken uit een hoge mate van herkenbare thema’s bestaan voor kinderen die seksueel misbruikt zijn wat tot identificatie en inzicht kan leiden. De Nederlandstalige boeken lijken hiermee geschikt voor bibliotherapeutisch gebruik. Sensitieve technieken en technieken die identificatie begeleiden zijn hierbij passend. Bibliotherapie is mogelijk op voorwaarde dat de professional over genoeg kennis en kunde beschikt, affiniteit heeft met boeken, waarneemt en interpreteert en thema’s bespreekbaar durft te maken waarbij terugkoppeling met ouders van belang is.
