Abstract
Entrepreneurs can be categorised by their motivation. The opportunity-based entrepreneurs primarily seek the successful delivery of their business idea, while necessity-based entrepreneurs seek to generate sufficient income to maintain their everyday financial needs. In this study the growth intention of the entrepreneurs was reviewed by evaluating the mediating role of proactivity and the passion for inventing. The study resulted in a positive relation between the opportunity-based entrepreneurs considering their growth intention and the mediating role of proactivity and passion for inventing. The study's results could not support the negative relation between necessity-based entrepreneurs to the growth intention and the mediating role of proactivity and passion for inventing. Further research opportunities could help identify whether there is a positive relationship in the case of necessity-based entrepreneurs, providing suggestions on training opportunities to enhance their positive attitude towards the growth intention by boosting their proactivity and passion for inventing.
