Abstract
This research examines the dimensions and ideologies highlighted in the teacher training for Citizenship Education in Mexico, analysing how these reflect broader political and social influences. Using a deductive approach and a structured coding scheme, the study will analyze the curriculum content, identify relevant knowledge and objectives, and categorize citizenship perspectives. This investigation aims to comprehensively understand the ideological constructs shaping citizenship education, thereby contributing to the broader discourse on citizenship education. Specifically, the research examines the citizenship education training courses, focusing on conceptions of citizenship and Biesta ́s (2009) educational dimensions, such as socialization, qualification, and subjectification. The study investigates the program's objectives, methodologies, and underlying ideologies, identifying the integration of citizenship paradigms as liberal, republican, and communitarian within the curriculum.
