Abstract

In order to face climate change, we must first understand what promotes pro-environmental behaviour; therefore this study aims to further understand the relationship between individual biospheric values and workplace pro-environmental behaviour (WPEB). We examined if stronger individual biospheric values increase the likelihood of WPEB (H1), meaning the more employees value the environment the more they will engage in in-role WPEB. Furthermore, we examined if this relationship would be influenced by perceived self-efficacy (H2) and outcome efficacy (H3) respectively. This study used a convenience sample of 93 participants. Our results confirmed the connection between strong biospheric values and increased WPEB. Additionally, our findings suggest that both perceived self-efficacy and outcome efficacy respectively have a significant influence on this relationship. Based on these findings we present both theoretical and practical implications. Keywords: biospheric values; self-efficacy; outcome efficacy; workplace pro- environmental behaviour
