Abstract
This study validates a three-dimensional pictorial scale for assessing human energy across physical, mental, and emotional dimensions. Drawing from previous conceptual frameworks, including the battery metaphor and multi-faceted measures of energy, this scale addresses limitations of single-item assessments. Data were collected from 75 employed psychology students over 18 weeks. The findings demonstrate strong convergent validity, with high correlations between the 3D battery scale and measures of vitality, vigor, and fatigue. Discriminant validity is established by differentiating energy states from anxiety, depression, and anger. Criterion-related validity is supported through correlations with sleep quality, attention, and physical thriving. The results highlight the scale's potential for capturing nuanced energy states relevant to workplace well-being and performance. Practical applications include its use for monitoring employee energy levels and informing interventions to enhance physical, mental, and emotional resilience in organizational settings. Keywords: 3D pictorial scale, human energy assessment, validity
