Abstract

ADHD wordt steeds meer gezien als een stoornis geassocieerd met problemen in Executieve Functies (EF). In dit onderzoek is gefocust op of de mate van problemen in EF, specifiek in Organisatie, de mate van ADHD symptomen zou voorspellen. Dit is gedaan aan de hand van de Conners’ Adult ADHD Rating Scale (CAARS) en de Executive Function Index Scale (EFI) onder de doelgroep universiteitsstudenten. Het onderzoek geeft een indicatie dat de mate van problemen in de EF Organisatie een voorspellende waarde heeft voor de mate van ADHD symptomen bij universiteitsstudenten. Dit is het geval voor zowel de globale maat van ADHD (47 procent variantie verklaard) en voor ADHD zoals beschreven in de DSM (51 procent variantie verklaard). Het resultaat geeft het belang aan van hoe neuropsychologische tekorten, zoals problemen in EF, impact hebben op het functioneren van een individu met ADHD.
