Abstract
Research shows that Success for All (SfA) is an evidence based reading program for primary schools. It’s an originally American program that has been transformed to a Dutch program with the purpose that every child learns to read well. The Success for All-program consists of a combination of various components. This study focussed on the component ‘parent involvement’. The aim of this study was to investigate to which extent there’s a relation between the implementation of parent involvement by teachers of grade 3 till 5 and the home reading activities parents do with their children. This is investigated using two questionnaires, one was an implementation questionnaire for teachers and the other was a questionnaire for parents. The analysis of the results is done with SPSS Statistics 26. The results showed that the component parent involvement isn’t implemented in the right way by every teacher. Furthermore the results showed that many parents read books to their children or children read themselves at home.
