Abstract
Publicatiebias is de voorkeur voor het publiceren van significante resultaten (Marks-Anglin &Chen, 2020; Rosenthal, 1979). Deze publicatiebias is een wijdverspreid probleem binnen de onderzoeksliteratuur (Thornton & Lee, 1999). Studenten zouden vinden dat niet-significante studies ook gerapporteerd moeten worden (Mullins et al., 2015). In dit onderzoek is een enquête ingevuld door studenten (n = 34) van de faculteit Gedrags- en Maatschappijwetenschappen van de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. Het doel van het onderzoek is om te kijken of deze studenten ook een voorkeur hebben voor significante studies. Aan de hand van een gepaarde t-toets is er een significante voorkeur (p = .042) gevonden voor wetenschappelijke artikelen met significante p-waardes. Deze voorkeur is vooral te zien in artikelen met extreem lage p-waardes (p = .001 en p = .002). Deze resultaten lijken te wijzen op publicatiebias onder deze groep studenten. Echter, is er wel meer onderzoek nodig om erachter te komen of dit echt zo is.
